Description
For Sale 1999 Thomas skidsteer, 5752 hrs, 54HP Kubota diesel engine, new tires, new paint, new decals, excellent piece of equipment
Thomas Equipment, Centreville, New Brunswick, Canada, has introduced a 1500 lb. skid-steer loader to its lineup. While retaining a compact size envelope, the T-153S skid-steer loader is powered by a liquid-cooled, four cylinder Kubota V2203E diesel engine rated 52 hp at 2800 rpm, which gives it the muscle to handle heavier lifting chores, according to Peter Mabee, product and marketing manager at Thomas Equipment.
"It seems to be satisfying a market niche," said Mabee. "We are finding a lot of landscapers utilizing this size of equipment. It's giving them additional lift capacity at a slightly lower cost than the larger units, as well as a more compact design to fit in where landscapers are utilizing the equipment."
Power is transferred from the engine to the loader's Sauer-Sundstrand hydrostatic pumps through a double universal joint drive system. The pumps power Danfoss OMTFL series motors, which drive the left and right side wheels through a heavy-duty No. 100 roller chain drive system.
The hydraulic system also includes a Blissfield hydraulic oil cooler and 8 gal. hydraulic reservoir, which helps dissipate heat more quickly. The same 10W 30 API/CD oil is used in the hydraulic system as the engine and drive chain lube system.
For cold weather operations, the engine is equipped with glow plugs and a high output 730 CCA battery. Engine coolant is a 50/50 blend and provides protection down to -40, the company said. If required, the loader can also be equipped with a remote booster terminal. Read more... |
