1991 BMY M929A2 dump truck was obtained by
Weaver Police Department through the LESO
Program (which provides surplus DOD property to
Law Enforcement Agencies). The truck was driven
to our location from Montgomery, AL, and it was
then placed in use with our Public Works
Department, who only occasionally used the
truck. The truck will crank with a jump (needs
new batteries), runs, drives, has no broken
glass, and the bed functions correctly.
Known problems are...
The front passenger tire has a slow leak (tire
leaks down over several weeks);
The auto tire inflator does not seem to be
working to air the front passenger tire up (as
we have had to manually add air);
The valve controlling switching between driver
side and passenger side fuel tanks needs to be
replaced. The valve has been bypassed, and the
truck is currently running on the passenger
tank; and
Needs wiper blades.
